The Beyondspace Story

Beyondspace began as a freelance endeavor on Freelancer.com and Upwork.com, where we tackled countless Squarespace-related projects. One request for a pinch-to-zoom lightbox sparked an idea—why not package and sell these solutions as digital products? That led to the launch of our first plugins, PinchZoom Lightbox and Squarespace Datepicker, initially sold on Etsy.

By 2023, we had outgrown Etsy and launched Beyondspace.studio, our dedicated platform to grow a sustainable business.

Why "Beyondspace"?

The name was inspired by Toy Story’s iconic phrase: “To infinity and beyond!”—a perfect fit for pushing Squarespace’s limits. The space-themed connection also made it a natural choice.

Similarly, Ground Control, our latest toolbox, was inspired by The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with the song Space Oddity—“Ground Control to Major Tom.” The name reflects the plugin’s purpose: a centralized hub for managing all Beyondspace solutions.
